About Cannon
Cannon opened with a pilot film in March 1971 about heavyweight PI Frank Cannon, played by William Conrad from a car office with a phone. Season 1 ran 24 episodes from September 1971, with season 2 at 24 and season 3 at 25 with steady cases.
Season 4 ran 24 episodes and season 5 ran 25 to March 1976 before cancellation at rank 39 ended it. The Return of Frank Cannon aired November 1980 as a reunion film with the same lead. The Barnaby Jones premiere crosses over with Cannon in 1973 for fans of both.
Good to know
Watch the pilot, then seasons 1 through 5, then the 1980 film in that order fully. Cases stand alone weekly, so the order rule is light outside the office setup years. The Barnaby crossover rewards both shows but needs no homework either way. The reunion film works as an extra after the series close.
