Cuckoo follows Ken and Lorna Thompson in Lichfield after daughter Rachel brings home hippie Cuckoo. Series 1 ran 6 episodes from September 25, 2012 on BBC Three with Andy Samberg. Series 2 ran 7 episodes from August 7, 2014 with Taylor Lautner as Dale claiming to be Cuckoo's son, plus a 2014 Christmas special.
Series 3 ran 7 episodes in 2016, Series 4 ran 6 episodes from August 2018, Series 5 ran 7 episodes from January 4, 2019 with Andie MacDowell as Ivy and no Dale. Rachel recasts from Tamla Kari to Esther Smith after Series 1. No sixth series was ordered.

Broadcast order matters because the lead changes twice with little explanation. Samberg leaves after Series 1, Lautner carries Series 2 to 4, then exits before Series 5. Do not wait for a Dale goodbye, since the show never gives one. The 2014 Christmas special slots after Series 2. With 33 episodes total, this is the rare sitcom where the title role keeps changing faces.
