About Empire Falls
Empire Falls adapts Richard Russo novel across two HBO nights. Part 1 aired May 28, 2005 with Miles in Empire Falls Maine. Part 2 aired May 29, 2005 closing the Roby family arc. Ed Harris plays Miles with Helen Hunt, Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward.
HBO lists one season with two episodes. DVD splits the 195 minutes into eight chapters, but broadcast order is Part 1 then Part 2. No second season was ordered. The story covers one town across decades with memory scenes inside the two parts, not as separate order.
Good to know
Watch Part 1 May 28, then Part 2 May 29. Start with the Empire Grill setup, continue through school and marriage threads, then finish the second night close. Flashbacks fill Miles youth but stay inside the two parts entirely. No film follows at all here. Keep the two part sequence for the 195 minutes.
