About Fresh Prince
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air aired on NBC from September 1990 to May 1996 for six seasons and 148 episodes. It follows Will Smith moving from Philadelphia to his aunt and uncle's mansion, growing up beside Carlton, Hilary, Ashley and Geoffrey. The finale sends each family member to New York, leaving Will last in the empty house.
Bel-Air rebooted the premise as an hour-long drama on Peacock from 2022, running four seasons through 2025 with Jabari Banks as Will. The reboot shares names and the move setup but no continuity with the sitcom, ending with its own college decisions.
Good to know
Watch all six sitcom seasons in broadcast order, since the Aunt Viv recast in season four and the Nicky arrival assume sequence. The very special episodes around guns and drinking land hardest with the family setup fresh. Bel-Air works after the original as a reimagining rather than a sequel, with its finale closing Will's drama arc separately.
