About Grey's Anatomy

Grey's Anatomy has run since 2005 at Grey Sloan Memorial in Seattle, passing 20 seasons with crossovers baked in. Private Practice spun Addison Montgomery to Los Angeles for six seasons from 2007 to 2013, overlapping Grey's seasons 4 through 9. Station 19 followed Seattle firefighters from 2018 to 2024 across seven seasons, overlapping Grey's seasons 14 through 20 with regular crossovers.

A full episode interleave would mean pausing mid-season dozens of times, which is why this guide uses show blocks in air order instead. Watch Grey's straight through, slot each spinoff season beside the Grey's season that aired with it, and treat the crossover episodes as two-parters where noted. The B-Team webisodes from 2018 are an optional extra.

Good to know

Do not attempt a strict episode interleave on a first watch. Private Practice season 1 runs beside Grey's season 4, and Station 19 season 1 runs beside Grey's season 14, but each show recaps what matters. Crossovers are labeled in the episode titles, so watch both halves together when one starts. Grey's is ongoing past season 21, Private Practice and Station 19 are complete, and Amelia Shepherd moving back to Grey's is why her arc needs both shows.
