About Hijack
Hijack traps Idris Elba's corporate negotiator Sam Nelson aboard hijacked flight KA29 from Dubai to London, told in near real time across seven episodes in 2023. Created by George Kay and Jim Field Smith, it earned Elba an Emmy nomination and became one of Apple's biggest dramas.
The second season premiered January 14, 2026 and ran eight episodes through March 4, moving the crisis to a Berlin underground train with Sam again at the center. The seasons are standalone crises linked by Sam, so you can follow each one fresh, but watch season one first to learn how he negotiates.
Good to know
Air order is the intended order. Season two jumps two years forward with a new hostage crisis, and while the plot stands alone, Sam's methods and reputation carry over directly. Each season tells its story in roughly real time, which is why episodes work best watched in sequence rather than skipped around. No third season has been announced.
