About Hudson and Rex
Hudson and Rex stars John Reardon as detective Charlie Hudson with German Shepherd Rex solving crimes in St Johns. Season one from March 2019 runs 16 episodes setting the K9 unit with Sarah and Joe plus forensics. Creator Peter Mitchell keeps each case to one scent trail and paw chase.
Seasons two to six through 2025 add 90 more to over 100 total with new tech and family arcs. Citytv has not closed the show as of September 2026, so the run stands open. Each episode names its crime up front with Rex finding the key clue.
