About It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia follows the Paddy's Pub gang scheming through Philly across eighteen seasons from 2005, the longest live-action sitcom run. Early seasons build the blackmail-bar dynamic with Danny DeVito joining from season 2.
Later years keep the same reset comedy with occasional arcs, including the Abbott Elementary crossover part in season 17. Season 18 expanded to ten episodes from August 2026 on FXX and Hulu. The show is fully episodic, so release order from the seven-episode first season is the tour. No nineteenth season is announced.
Good to know
Every season stands alone, so release order is simply the air order across 180-plus episodes. Season 1 runs seven episodes and later runs vary between eight and fifteen. The Abbott Elementary season 4 episode is the crossover part one to season 17 episode one for the curious. Season 18 airs weekly into October 2026. Start at season 1, since the gang's awfulness compounds beautifully.
