About Mentalist
The Mentalist aired on CBS from September 2008 to February 2015 for seven seasons and 151 episodes. It follows fake psychic Patrick Jane, played by Simon Baker, hunting wife-killer Red John beside Teresa Lisbon. The Red John identity lands midway through season six, with the final seasons moving Jane to the FBI and closing the romance.
CBS closed it in 2015 after the Red John aftermath played out with the wedding ending. No revival has been ordered, leaving the finale's family button as the close rather than an open thread.
Good to know
Watch one through seven in broadcast order, since the Red John suspect list and the Blake Association assume the full run. The show is episodic around one case each, so an occasional skip harms nothing outside the mythology episodes. The post-Red John seasons divide fans, but they close Jane and Lisbon directly rather than resetting them.
