About Motherland
Motherland follows school gate mothers led by Julia, Amanda and Liz across three BBC series from 2017 to 2021 plus a pilot and two Christmas specials. The run totals nineteen episodes plus the pilot as the comedy of competitive parenting builds from gates to holidays and finales.
Watch the pilot first, then the series and specials in release order, closing with the 2022 Last Christmas finale. The Amandaland spinoff continues Amanda's story for two seasons from 2025, watched after Motherland ends.
Good to know
Release order matches story order across pilot, series and specials, so no alternate list is needed. The 2020 and 2022 Christmas specials slot between the series as released. Amandaland runs separately after the 2022 finale, with its second season out in May 2026 for spinoff fans to continue with happily.
