About Ms Fisher
Ms Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries follows Peregrine Fisher, Phryne's niece, inheriting the detective agency in 1960s Melbourne. Season one from February 2019 runs four feature length films with Geraldine Hakewill as Peregrine and Joel Jackson as James. Cases span fashion houses and football clubs.
Season two from June 2021 runs eight hour long episodes with deeper Birdie and Samuel arcs. Acorn TV has not ordered a third run as of September 2026, so the twelve mysteries form the complete set. The show shares the 1920s theme song in a new arrangement.
Good to know
Watch season one films before season two, since Peregrine's license and James partnership build directly. The 1960s setting changes cars and phones but keeps the Fisher humor. The original Miss Fisher run fits anywhere before this as background on Phryne. Treat the S2 finale as the close unless Acorn orders more cases.
