About Sherlock Holmes
Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes from 2009 stars Robert Downey Jr. with Jude Law as Watson, closing on Lord Blackwood’s plot. A Game of Shadows from 2011 follows with Professor Moriarty as the foe and ends on Holmes’s apparent fall. A third Ritchie film has stayed in development for years with no shoot date as of September 2026.
Enola Holmes from 2020 stars Millie Bobby Brown as Sherlock’s younger sister with Henry Cavill as Sherlock, and Enola Holmes 2 from 2022 gives her a first official case. The Enola films borrow the same Victorian London but center a new detective, so they can be watched as a pair after the Ritchie duology.

Watch the Ritchie duology first, then the two Enola films. The Enola entries explain their own version of Sherlock, so no cross viewing is required. A third Ritchie film and a third Enola film have both been discussed by the studios, but neither had a firm date as of September 2026, so the four released films form the complete set for now.
