About Murder, She Wrote
Murder, She Wrote aired on CBS from September 1984 to May 1996 for twelve seasons and 264 episodes. It follows mystery writer Jessica Fletcher, played by Angela Lansbury, solving murders from Cabot Cove to New York lecture tours. Later seasons move Jessica to Manhattan full time while the body count follows her everywhere.
Four TV movies closed the run from 1997 to 2003 with Jessica traveling to Paris, the southwest and beyond. No revival has been ordered, with the movies standing as the planned farewell rather than a network cut.
Good to know
Watch one through twelve in broadcast order, then the four movies, since the Cabot Cove neighbors and the Grady visits assume sequence. The show is fully episodic around one murder each, so an occasional skip harms nothing outside the finales. Later seasons lean into the travel format, which plays best with the Cabot Cove years fresh.
