About Picket Fences
Picket Fences aired 88 episodes across four seasons from September 1992 to June 1996 on CBS, created by David E. Kelley. Sheriff Jimmy Brock and Dr Jill Brock anchor Rome, Wisconsin, where odd crimes and moral cases pull in the whole family and the town bench.
Watch Seasons 1 through 4 in air order, since character arcs and the town mythos build year to year. Season 1 from 1992 sets Rome and the Brock home. Later seasons deepen the Douglas Wambaugh courtroom runs and the teen plots. No revival or film continues it, so the four season list is the full story. Kelley's moral puzzles still spark debate among drama fans today.
Good to know
Release order matches story order with no specials or crossovers to place. Season 1 runs 22 episodes and sets Rome's strange case tone. Seasons 2 and 3 expand the courtroom and family arcs across 22 episodes each. Season 4 closes the town saga in 22 episodes. The show won fourteen Emmys, so expect prestige pacing rather than case of the week speed.
