About Prison Break
Prison Break ran four Fox seasons from 2005 to 2009 as Michael Scofield breaks his brother out of Fox River, then added The Final Break film, a 2017 revival season 5 set in Yemen, and now a Hulu reboot. The original ends its first run with the Panama arc, the film closes Sara's story, and season 5 reunites the brothers years later.
The reboot, titled Black Creek, was ordered to series at Hulu in October 2025 with showrunner Elgin James and entered production in 2026 with a new cast in the same universe. No premiere date has been set, and original stars are not confirmed to return beyond teased cameo talk.
Good to know
Watch seasons 1 through 4, then The Final Break, then season 5, since that matches both release and story order. Season 1 is the self-contained classic, so newcomers who bounce off the later conspiracy arcs can stop there cleanly. Black Creek starts fresh in the same universe, which means it will work as its own entry point once Hulu dates it.
