About Rectify
Rectify follows Daniel Holden after nineteen years on Georgia death row, released when DNA doubts vacate the conviction and forced to rebuild inside a small town that already decided his guilt. The Sundance run aired four seasons from 2013 to 2016, trading courtroom twists for porch talks, hardware store shifts and therapy sessions that slowly test whether freedom can hold.
Season 1 covers the release shock across six episodes, season 2 widens the family fracture, and season 4 closes toward a fragile peace. Aden Young anchors the quiet while the family carries the cost at home. Start at the pilot.
Good to know
Release order is story order with no gaps, so watch seasons one through four straight. The pace stays slow on purpose, with long takes that reward patience rather than recap reading. Do not skip season 3 for speed, since its stillness sets up the final move that only lands after the stall. The finale closes Daniel's arc cleanly, with no revival talk beyond cast retrospectives and festival panels.
