About Rome
Rome follows soldiers Vorenus and Pullo through Caesar rise and Octavian revenge. Season 1 from 2005 runs 12 episodes from Gaul to the Ides across Atia plots. Season 2 from 2007 runs 10 episodes through Philippi to Egypt with the sons grown.
Two seasons aired as a co production cut short by cost. Watch in broadcast order since marriages, proscriptions and wills stack directly. The finale closes Octavian triumph with Vorenus fate settled, so treat it as a planned end despite the fast second year pace.
Good to know
Broadcast order is the only order with soldier and palace cuts timed together. Season 1 sets Republic rules slowly through feasts, so give it three episodes. Season 2 compresses years per episode, which rewards keeping character maps handy. Treat season 2 as the close with no film ordered and the movie talk never reaching dates.
