About Squid Game
Squid Game follows Gi-hun, a debt-ridden player drawn into a deadly underground contest where 456 contestants play children's games for a cash prize. Season 1 (2021) stands alone, while seasons 2 (2024) and 3 (2025) continue Gi-hun's attempt to take the games down.
Season 3, released June 27, 2025, ends the Korean series. An English-language version has been rumored, reportedly with David Fincher attached, but Netflix had confirmed nothing as of 2026-09-17.

Rumors are rumors here. The season 3 finale cameo by Cate Blanchett as a Los Angeles recruiter is a thematic coda, not a confirmed pilot, and creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has said he wrote it for impact rather than as a setup. Treat any US spinoff talk as unconfirmed until Netflix announces it.
