About Stranger Things
Stranger Things follows the kids of Hawkins, Indiana as they run into a government experiment, a dimension called the Upside Down, and the person running both. Netflix premiered it in July 2016, and the fifth and final season finished on December 31, 2025, released in three batches: four episodes on November 26, three on Christmas Day, and the finale, The Rightside Up, on New Year's Eve.
Everything in the five seasons happens in a straight line, so there is nothing to reorder. The one extra entry is Stranger Things: Tales From '85, an animated spin-off that arrived on Netflix in 2026.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order for the five seasons; they run in sequence with no flashback seasons. The exception is Tales From '85, set in the winter of 1985 between seasons 2 and 3 but released on April 23 and September 17, 2026, so it is listed last below. It uses new voice actors and stands alone, and you can slot it in after season 2 instead. A live-action spin-off with an all-new cast is in development at Netflix with no date.
