About Stranger
Stranger, Korean title Secret Forest, pairs prosecutor Hwang Si-mok with officer Han Yeo-jin. Season one follows a sponsor murder into prosecution and police corruption across 16 episodes on tvN. Season two follows a drowning case into a fight between police and prosecution over reform, also 16 episodes.
Dongjae, the Good or the Bastard arrived in 2024 as a ten part spinoff about prosecutor Seo Dong-jae. It assumes the two main seasons, so it sits last. Release order and story order agree here, since each case builds on the last reform debate.
Good to know
Watch season 1, then season 2, then Dongjae. The spinoff is lighter and shorter, and its jokes about Dong-jae need the earlier seasons to land. No third main season has aired, so the three entries below are the full screen story so far. The two main seasons each run 16 episodes, so plan them as separate weeks.
