About Suzhal
Suzhal: The Vortex is a Tamil-language crime thriller on Prime Video created by Pushkar-Gayathri, where each season sets a closed investigation against a small-town festival. Season one (eight episodes, June 17, 2022) follows sub-inspector Sakkarai (Kathir) and Nandini (Aishwarya Rajesh) through a missing-girl case during the Mayana Kollai festival in Sambaloor.
Season two (eight episodes, February 28, 2025) moves to Kaalipattinam during the Ashtakaali festival, with Sakkarai investigating the locked-room murder of activist lawyer Chellappa. The seasons share characters but tell separate cases, so release order is the natural path. No third season has been announced.
Good to know
Watch season one first even though the cases are separate, since season two builds on Sakkarai and Nandini as characters. Both seasons are in Tamil with dubs and subtitles on Prime Video, eight episodes each at roughly 40 to 50 minutes. If you only want one festival mystery, either season stands alone without homework.
