About The Capture
Series 1 from 2019 follows soldier Shaun Emery after CCTV convicts him, as Carey finds the footage corrected. Six episodes build the Correction conspiracy around Grainger's detective. Series 2 from 2022 moves Carey into counter terror, where invisible assassins kill on camera and Essiedu joins as a minister under threat.
Series 3 from March 2026 puts Carey in charge of SO15 with six more episodes against the same system. Chanan wrote all three runs and calls the shape a trilogy, with a fourth unannounced. Watch in release order, since Carey climbs the conspiracy across the three.
Good to know
Release order is the story order, since each run promotes Carey and deepens Correction. Start with series 1 for the CCTV hook, the most watched BBC debut of 2019. Series 2 leans harder into deepfakes. Series 3 aired March to April 2026, and no fourth run is dated, so the trilogy ends here for now, with Correction watching.
