About The Magicians
The Magicians aired five seasons and 65 episodes on Syfy, from December 2015 to April 2020. It follows Quentin Coldwater and his classmates at Brakebills, a college for magic, as they find Fillory, the fantasy world from their childhood books, is real and in trouble.
Each season adapts roughly one stage of Lev Grossman novels then moves past them, with season 5 ending the story on purpose after Syfy announced it as the last. There are no movies or spinoffs. Watch seasons 1 through 5 in order. The plot resets its magic system twice and later payoffs need the early setup.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order for this show. Every season follows the last with no flashback seasons to reorder. Season 1 covers 13 episodes from late 2015 into 2016, and seasons 2 through 5 run 13 episodes each from January to April. The finale aired April 1, 2020 and no revival has been announced.
