About The Rainmaker
The Rainmaker brings John Grisham's rookie lawyer Rudy Baylor to USA Network, with the Memphis insurance fraud case running across the first year. Season 1 aired ten episodes August 15 to October 17, 2025, mixing the big bad faith trial with weekly clinic cases. The 1997 Coppola film tells the same book in two hours, but the series lets the appeal and the firm pressure breathe.
USA renewed it October 23, 2025. Season 2 premieres October 16, 2026 at 10 p.m. ET with ten episodes projected. Watch season 1 first since the verdict, the appeal rights and the Bruiser Stone threat all carry forward.
Good to know
Release order is the story order since the insurance verdict and its appeal span both seasons. The 1997 film is an alternate telling of the same novel, not a prequel, so it slots anywhere or can be skipped. Season 2 premieres October 16, 2026 on USA. Episode count is projected at ten from the network pattern, with USA listing it as TBA.
