About The Shannara Chronicles

The Shannara Chronicles adapts Terry Brooks post apocalyptic fantasy. Season 1 ran 10 episodes from January to March 2016 on MTV, adapting The Elfstones of Shannara with Wil, Amberle and Eretria guarding the Ellcrys. Season 2 ran 10 episodes from October to November 2017 on Spike as an original story a year later.

Spike cancelled the show in January 2018 after shopping it with no pickup. The finale Blood ends threads open. Watch season 1 then season 2. Season 2 assumes you know the Warlock Lord defeat and the new Warlock threat builds on it.

Good to know

There is no separate chronological order. Season 2 follows season 1 by about a year in story, so release order is the only list. The MTV to Spike move changes nothing in plot. No season 3 has been ordered as of September 2026, so the 2017 finale is the endpoint despite the cliffhanger. Start at season 1.
