Tokyo Vice follows American reporter Jake Adelstein embedding with Tokyo police in 1999. Season 1 (2022) runs 8 episodes from April 7, 2022 on the Tozawa loan shark thread. Season 2 (2024) runs 10 episodes from February 8 to April 4, 2024 on the club war and the Katagiri family cost.
J.T. Rogers created the Max show from Adelstein memoirs with Ansel Elgort and Ken Watanabe. Max cancelled it June 8, 2024 after two seasons, with Elgort only optioned for two as a closed arc. Watch in broadcast order, since the Sato debt and the Samantha club only make sense across both years.
Good to know
Broadcast order is story order, with flashbacks to Missouri sitting inside a straight present day push. Do not start with season 2, since it opens with Jake already burned and assumes you know Polina and the Yoshino tape.
