About Victoria

Victoria premiered on ITV in August 2016 with Jenna Coleman, running 8 episodes in series 1 and 8 in series 2 through 2017. A Christmas special aired in December 2017, then series 3 ran 8 episodes in early 2019 for 25 parts in total. The story covers roughly the 1830s to the Great Exhibition in 1851.

Series 3 aired in the US before the UK and ends with Albert collapsing, which was not written as a finale. ITV said in July 2021 it had no current plans to film more but did not rule out a return. Creator Daisy Goodwin discussed a Crimean War fourth run that would need a recast for an older Victoria, but nothing was greenlit as of September 2026.

Good to know

Watch series 1, series 2, the Christmas special, then series 3, since the special was made to bridge the gap. Runtimes vary from 46 to 89 minutes, so streaming orders can look uneven. Expect the season 3 close to feel abrupt, because it is a hiatus stop rather than a designed ending. PBS Masterpiece edits differ slightly from ITV, so episode titles may not line up across services.
