About Vigil
Vigil is World Productions BBC thriller with Suranne Jones as DCI Amy Silva and Rose Leslie as Kirsten Longacre. Series one launched as the most watched new UK drama since Bodyguard, with 13.8 million consolidated for the opener, following a death aboard Trident submarine Vigil. Series two moved to the Royal Air Force in Scotland and Morocco from December 10 2023, adding Dougray Scott and Romola Garai around a weapons test disaster.
Each series is a closed conspiracy with the same leads, so watch series one then series two. The submarine case informs the partnership but does not set plot for the air base case beyond character trust.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order worth listing. The two series from 2021 to 2023 follow Silva and Longacre forward in separate postings from submarine to air base, so release order and story order are the same list. Peacock carries it in the US, but the BBC One air order of six plus six remains the intended path.
