About Sherwood
Sherwood follows Nottingham police with Sparrow, Daphne and Warner around pit village kills. Series 1 from 2022 runs 6 episodes from the 1980s strike past into present murders with Scott Rowley’s arrow turn. Mercurio bases the split on real Nottingham rifts.
Series 2 from 2024 runs 6 episodes into a new family feud with the same station. It assumes the strike wounds from series 1 without retelling them. A third series has been discussed but had no date as of September 2026, so the two form the released set with room left.
Good to know
Watch series 1 fully before series 2. The strike past only lands if you know the village splits from series 1 well, so skipping breaks the feud setup badly for new viewers. Cases close per series, but police trust needs the sequence. Treat the show as paused rather than closed while a third series stays possible.
