About The Wheel of Time

The Wheel of Time adapts Robert Jordan's fourteen novels across three Amazon seasons: 2021, 2023 and 2025, twenty-four episodes in all. Season 1 introduces Moiraine and the five Emond's Field youths with one revealed as the Dragon Reborn. Season 2 builds toward Rand accepting that role, and season 3 adapts The Shadow Rising and The Fires of Heaven to its strongest reviews, including a 97 percent critics score.

Amazon cancelled the series in May 2025 after season 3, citing costs against viewership, despite season 3 premiering as the top show in dozens of countries. The plan had been eight seasons, so the show ends mid-story with Rand's arc unresolved. The novels remain the only complete telling, and no revival or buyer has been confirmed.

Good to know

Watch the three seasons straight through, since each assumes the last and quality climbs steeply. Season 1 is the roughest with book changes, season 2 steadies, and season 3 is the payoff. Go in knowing it ends unresolved: the cancellation came two months after the season 3 finale with no season 4. Readers who want the rest need Jordan's novels from book four onward, where season 3 leaves off.
