About Will and Grace
Will and Grace aired on NBC from September 1998 to May 2006 for eight seasons around Will Truman, Grace Adler, Jack and Karen. The original finale jumped decades ahead with children and reunions. The 2017 revival ignored that flash-forward across three more seasons, running 52 episodes through April 2020 with the same four leads.
Creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick closed the revival by choice with the apartment story finished twice over. The 2016 election special that sparked the revival sits outside continuity as the reunion sketch that tested the waters.
Good to know
Watch seasons one through eight in order, then the revival seasons nine through eleven, accepting that the revival overwrites the 2006 flash-forward. The original ending still works as an alternate goodbye if preferred. Jack and Karen's arcs assume full history, so the revival lands flat without the early apartment years fresh.
