About Air
Air follows Yukito meeting Misuzu in a seaside town tied to winged legends. Kyoto Animation produced 13 counted episodes from January to March 2005 with 12 stories plus a recap. The Toei film in February 2005 runs 91 minutes as a Misuzu focused retelling released mid TV run.
Summer aired 2 episodes in August and September 2005 expanding the Heian journey of Kanna, Ryuya and Uraha from 1000 years prior. It fills gaps around TV episodes 8 and 9 but was made to watch after the TV run. No new anime has followed since 2005.
Good to know
Summer sits 1000 years before the TV story in time but released after, so chronological order would start there. The guide still recommends release order because Summer assumes you know the curse. The film repeats rather than continues, so treat it as an alternate. Watch TV, then film optional, then Summer.
