About The Knight in the Area
The Knight in the Area follows Kakeru Araki playing with his dead brother's heart, literally, after a transplant puts Suguru's engine in his chest. Thirty-seven episodes aired January 7 to September 29, 2012 on TV Asahi, running from Enoshima high school trials through the national push. The manga ran 57 volumes to 2017.
The run is a single continuous season with no sequel. Its earnest sportsmanship splits viewers, though the brother engine gives every match a second pulse. Watch the ranges below in order since the transplant reveal and the Japan youth callups stack across the year.
Good to know
Watch episodes 1 through 37 in order. The heart transplant setup and the national team ladder stack across the run, so skipping breaks the brother engine payoff. No sequel or film is announced. The manga covers the full 57 volume story for readers who want past the anime's Enoshima close. The Japan youth callups reward the full run.
