About Chainsaw Man
Chainsaw Man adapts Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga in strict story order through MAPPA's anime. Season 1 from October 2022 covers the Katana Man and early devil hunter arcs across twelve episodes, ending right before the Bomb Devil plot.
Chainsaw Man: The Movie - Reze Arc premiered September 19, 2025 in Japan and October 24, 2025 in the United States, adapting volumes 5 and 6 as a direct sequel. A second season has not been dated, so the film is currently the endpoint of the animated story. The film keeps the TV voice cast and adapts the full Bomb Devil run.
Good to know
Watch season 1 first, then the Reze Arc film, since the movie assumes you know Denji, Aki, Power and Makima from the TV run. The film is not a side story but required viewing for the plot. Manga readers can continue from chapter 44 after the film into the International Assassins arc while waiting for season 2 news.
