About Creamy Mami
Ten year old Yuu Morisawa helps stranded aliens from the Feather Star and receives a magic compact that transforms her into sixteen year old idol singer Creamy Mami for one year. Balancing school, her parents parfait shop and a secret pop career, Yuu rides Mami fame through concerts and TV spots. The early run covers the origin and the double life comedy.
The middle stretch follows chart battles with Megumi as the year of magic runs down. The closing run ends with the farewell concert, followed by OVAs revisiting Mami years later. Pierrot aired 52 episodes from 1983 to 1984 with designs by Akemi Takada. Watch episodes 1 through 52, then Long Goodbye and Curtain Call.
Good to know
Watch the 52 TV episodes in broadcast order in three blocks, then the OVAs Long Goodbye and Curtain Call, since the TV finale sets up the goodbye the OVAs revisit. The idol milestones only make sense in sequence as fame builds and rivals shift. No remake continues the story, so TV plus OVAs is the complete canon. Songs were performed by Takako Ohta, who voiced Yuu.
