About Detective Conan
Detective Conan adapts Gosho Aoyama's manga about Shinichi Kudo shrunk to kid Conan solving murders beside Kogoro Mouri. The TV series passed 1100 episodes since 1996 with the Black Organization plot advancing slowly. Yearly films run alongside from 1997, with the 2025 film as the latest box-office record and the manga still active.
Fillers make up much of the TV run, so canon lists matter more here than anywhere. The films reset around one set piece each year with no required TV homework beyond knowing Conan's secret.
Good to know
Start with the early episodes through the Vermouth arc, then follow canon-episode lists rather than watching straight through. The yearly films work in release order as annual events with their own cases. Zero's Tea Time and Hanzawa spinoffs fit anywhere as comedy extras with no required placement for the main plot.
