About Full Metal Panic
Full Metal Panic follows soldier Sousuke Sagara guarding Kaname Chidori for Mithril against Amalgam with Arm Slave mecha. The 2002 series runs 24 episodes through Gauron, Fumoffu in 2003 runs 12 school comedy episodes, Second Raid in 2005 runs 13 Hong Kong episodes, and Invisible Victory in 2018 runs 12 Namsac closing episodes.
Watch in release order since Amalgam threat and school trust build in turn. Fumoffu works between the 2002 run and Second Raid as a comedy break rather than first. No fifth season has been dated past the novels end, which leaves Invisible Victory as the anime close.
Good to know
Release order matches the intended mix of war and school with Fumoffu placed second. The 2002 run sets Mithril ranks slowly through missions, so give it six episodes. Second Raid assumes the comedy bond, which makes saving Fumoffu before it work best. Treat Invisible Victory as the current end with the novels beyond it.
