About Girlish Number
Girlish Number follows Chitose Karasuma, a brash rookie voice actress cast as the lead in the light novel adaptation Pinewood Inside Kuzu Story. She shares the booth with veteran Yae Kugayama, grounded Koto Katakura and singer Momoka Sonou while producer Gojou and author Kuzu P keep rewriting around them. Early episodes cover auditions, radio shows, event slips and Chitose's clash with real work.
The middle stretch follows script rewrites, animation delays, harsh net ratings and the adaptation drifting from its source. The closing run pushes the cast through the finale recording and a blunt look at talent versus luck. Studio Diomedea aired twelve episodes in fall 2016 from an original story by Wataru Watari with art by QP flapper. Watch episodes 1 through 12 in order.
Good to know
Watch episodes 1 through 12 in broadcast order. The industry jokes land in sequence because the in show anime goes from hopeful launch to troubled production to finale rescue. The light novels and the Girlish Number Shura short spinoff add background but are not needed first. No second season has aired, so the twelve form the complete anime. Fans of voice acting radio and event culture get the most from the middle stretch.
