About InuYasha
Kagome Higurashi falls through a well into feudal Japan and joins the half-demon Inuyasha to recover the shattered Shikon Jewel. Sunrise aired 167 episodes from October 16, 2000 to September 13, 2004, stopping before the manga's ending.
Release order works without rearrangement. The four films are original side stories that fit nowhere essential, and Inuyasha: The Final Act (26 episodes, 2009 to 2010) adapts the last 21 manga volumes to finish the plot. Yashahime follows the next generation across two 24-episode seasons.
Good to know
All four films are non-canon. Watch them any time after roughly episode 50, or save them until after The Final Act. The Final Act compresses 21 manga volumes into 26 episodes, so its pace is much faster than the original run. Yashahime centers on Sesshomaru's twin daughters Towa and Setsuna and on Moroha, the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome.
