About Inuyasha
Inuyasha ran 167 episodes from October 2000 to September 2004, with four movies released during its original run. It came back in 2009 as Inuyasha: The Final Act, which adapts the last 21 volumes of the manga across 26 episodes and closes the main story for good.
Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon follows the next generation about a decade later, and its two seasons of 48 episodes finished in March 2022. The films are self-contained and optional, and none of them changes how the original series ends.
Good to know
The four films fall inside the original series' own run, so watching them after episode 167 is the simplest approach and skipping them costs nothing plot-critical. On August 19, 2026 Rumiko Takahashi posted that an Inuyasha reveal was three months away, which points to November 2026, but nobody outside her camp has said whether it is an anime, a manga project or an art book.
