About King of Bandit Jing
King of Bandit Jing follows Jing, a teen thief with the bird partner Kirsche, pulling off impossible heists. The seven part OVA released in early 2002 adapts Yuichi Kumakura manga chapters with stylish single job stories. The TV series Jing in Seventh Heaven aired 13 episodes in mid 2002 on NHK with new heists and the same duo plus lasting allies.
Both versions are episodic with no shared continuity beyond the lead pair, so either entry point works, but OVA then TV follows release and production order. The manga ran longer than both anime, yet the OVA plus TV run covers the best known screen heists. There are no films, so the seven OVA parts plus 13 TV episodes are the full path.
Good to know
Watch the OVA first from early 2002, since its compact heists set Jing and Kirsche quickly. The TV series from mid 2002 then expands the world with longer jobs, so it plays as a companion run rather than a sequel. Each theft stands alone, which keeps order simple. The short totals reward watching both in release order in a few sittings. Release order keeps every heist debut clear for new viewers.
