About Machine Robo
Machine Robo starts with Revenge of Cronos, 47 episodes from July 1986 to May 1987, where Rom Stol defends planet Cronos with the Wolf Sword against the Gyandlar. Battle Hackers follows with 31 episodes from June to December 1987 on Electronic Planet B1 with a new human cast and the Algo Republic.
Leina Wolf Sword Legend is a 3 episode OVA from 1988 to 1989 that follows Leina as a human after Cronos. Machine Robo Rescue ran 53 episodes from January 2003 to January 2004 from Sunrise as a full reboot about rescue robots paired with kids, with no story link to the 1980s shows.
Good to know
Release order works because the 1980s arc runs Cronos, then Battle Hackers, then Wolf Sword Legend. Rescue can be watched on its own at any point since it reboots the concept. The single episode Lightning Trap Leina and Laika from 1990 is an optional side story set during Wolf Sword Legend. No new Machine Robo anime had been announced as of October 2026.
