About Mai-HiME
Mai-HiME follows Mai with Natsuki and Mikoto at Fuka academy against Orphans with Child powers. The 2004 series runs twenty six episodes that set the festival, the kiss and the war rules. It ends with the school scarred.
Mai-Otome from 2005 to 2006 runs twenty six episodes in a new land with Arika, while Zwei OVA from 2006 to 2007 adds four extras. No new anime has been dated. Watch HiME first, then Otome, then Zwei, since Otome assumes the power base. Battles stand alone per festival, but Child and corona rules grow with each show across Fuka.
Good to know
Release order works best, since Otome reuses HiME power and school rules in a new land. HiME works alone for festival war, but Otome coronas land best after the Child base. Zwei works last as extras with the Otome crew. Start at HiME for the academy rules. HiME works alone for war, but Otome coronas land best after the Child base and academy.
