About Medaka Box
Medaka Box follows student council president Medaka Kurokami filling a suggestion box with her aide Zenkichi. Season 1 ran 12 episodes from April 5 to June 21, 2012 at Gainax, covering school challenges with a comedy lead.
Medaka Box Abnormal ran 12 episodes from October 11 to December 27, 2012, shifting to Flask Plan battles and the Thirteen Party. It ends introducing Misogi Kumagawa, with the rest of the manga left unadapted. The manga ran 2009 to 2013 and finished, with no third season announced.
Good to know
Watch season 1, then Abnormal in that order. The tone jump between them is intentional, since the first cour hides the battle series underneath the comedy. The anime stops mid story, so expect a Kumagawa tease with no payoff on screen. Read the manga from the Kumagawa arc if the cliffhanger bothers you.
