About Megalo Box
Junk Dog fights fixed bouts in an underground ring until he enters Megalonia, a citywide tournament for boxers wearing powered exoskeletons called Gear. TMS Entertainment built the series for the 50th anniversary of Ashita no Joe, with 13 episodes airing April to June 2018.
The 13-episode second season, Nomad, aired April to June 2021 and picks up years later with Joe wandering as an underground fighter again. Watch season 1 first. Three short recap specials from 2018 are skippable.
Good to know
Nomad is a direct sequel, not a reboot. Ashita no Joe is a thematic ancestor and shares no plot, so it is optional background. No third season had been announced as of September 2026.
