About Megazone 23
Megazone 23 starts with Part I in 1985, where biker Shogo finds a military Garland mech and learns Tokyo is a spaceship. Part II from 1986 follows Shogo and Eve against the military AI Bahamut with a harder edge.
Part III from 1989 jumps centuries ahead with new leads Eiji and Ryo across two episodes. Watch parts 1 through 3 in order. The computer reveal in Part I sets every later turn, and Part III assumes the ship premise is known even with a fresh cast. Artmic and AIC split the production across the three parts.
Good to know
Watch Part I, then Part II, then Part III. Part I runs about 80 minutes as a single OVA, Part II about the same, and Part III spans two episodes. The production shifted studios across parts, which shows in the designs. No new Megazone anime had been announced as of October 2026, so the three parts stand complete.
