About My Hero Academia
My Hero Academia follows Izuku Midoriya from Quirkless kid to pro hero across eight seasons, ending with the Final Season in late 2025 and a short epilogue special in 2026. The four films are non-canon side stories that slot between seasons without changing the plot.
Vigilantes is a finished prequel spinoff about unlicensed street heroes, with two seasons covering 2025 and early 2026. It stands alone, so newcomers can watch the main series straight through and save it for after.
Good to know
The main anime is complete: season 8 ran 11 episodes from October 4 to December 13, 2025, and the bonus special adapting manga chapter 431 premiered May 2, 2026. The manga itself ended in August 2024. All four films are side stories supervised with original input but outside canon, so skipping them loses nothing.
Vigilantes season 1 aired April to June 2025 and season 2 ran 13 episodes from January 5 to March 30, 2026; both are finished with no further season announced as of September 2026.
