About Ninja Hattori
Ninja Hattori premiered in 1981 from Shin-Ei Animation for 694 episodes about Hattori living with Kenichi Mitsuba and using ninja arts for school and home trouble. Shishimaru the dog, Shinzo and Shizuka round out daily gags with rival Kemumaki and Kagechiyo through 1987.
A new Ninja Hattori series launched in India and Japan in 2012 with fresh CGI supported episodes following the same family setup. The remake keeps Kenichi and Hattori while updating gadgets and city life for modern viewers. Watch the 1981 run first for classic gags, then the 2012 series for the revival style and shorter stories.
Good to know
Start with the 1981 series for the core Hattori and Kenichi bond across school tests and home chaos. The 2012 remake assumes that setup and moves faster with new animation and shorter plots. Both runs are episodic, so sampling works, but release order shows how gags and ninja tools changed. The franchise stays active with specials, though these two TV runs cover the anime path.
