About The Promised Neverland
Emma, Norman, and Ray discover their idyllic orphanage is a farm raising children as food for demons. Season 1 (12 episodes, 2019) adapts the escape faithfully through manga chapter 37 and won Best Fantasy at the 2020 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.
Season 2 (11 episodes, 2021) compresses chapters 38 to 181 into an anime-original shortcut. Whole arcs and characters, including Goldy Pond, vanish. For the full story, read the manga: 20 volumes, complete since June 2020.

Manga writer Kaiu Shirai supervised season 2's original scenario, but reception was sharply negative over pacing and cuts. A live-action film released December 2020. A stage musical was announced for Q4 2026.
