About Hell Girl
Hell Girl follows Ai Enma, a mysterious girl who appears when someone submits a grudge to the midnight Hell Correspondence site. If the client accepts the terms, Ai ferries the tormentor to hell, with the price that the client will go there too after death. Studio Deen animated all four seasons, directed by Takahiro Omori and Hiroshi Watanabe.
Season one aired from October 2005 to April 2006 with 26 episodes. Futakomori followed from October 2006 to April 2007 with 26 episodes, then Mitsuganae from October 2008 to April 2009 with 26 episodes. Yoi no Togi closed the run from July to September 2017 with 12 episodes, mixing six new stories with six selected rebroadcasts.
Good to know
Release order is the viewing order for Hell Girl. The story is linear, with each season expanding Ai and her companions before the next one starts, so there is no separate chronological list worth making. Note that Yoi no Togi contains six new episodes plus six recaps from earlier seasons, and new viewers should still watch it last for the framing story with Michiru.
