About Berserk
Berserk adapts Miura's manga in overlapping pieces that need ordering. The 1997 series covers the Golden Age through the Eclipse, the film trilogy from 2012 to 2013 retells it with modern animation, and Memorial Edition from 2022 re-cuts the films for TV.
The 2016 to 2017 series continues past the Eclipse into the Conviction and Falcon arcs with divisive CG. The manga continues under Kouji Mori after Miura's passing, so no anime finale exists yet, and the 1997 ending plus the films all stop at the same Eclipse point.
Good to know
Newcomers should pick one Golden Age telling: the 1997 series for mood or Memorial Edition for completeness, not both back to back. Continue to the 2016 series only if the CG style does not bother you, since its story goes further. The manga remains the only finished telling, so readers get the full Eclipse and beyond while anime viewers wait.
